Abstract

Introduction. The article examines the assessment of the ultimate oil recovery potential at mature oil fields through the calculation of the “ideal” oil recovery factor, obtained by applying a combined adaptation of analytical and hydrodynamic models to actual field data.
Aim. The study substantiates the relevance of refined modeling approaches for identifying zones with high remaining oil saturation and for evaluating their involvement in further development during the late stages of reservoir exploitation.
Materials and methods. A comprehensive approach that combines the construction and adaptation of analytical models has made it possible to localize and involve potential areas with high residual recoverable reserves in development.
Results. A detailed methodological framework for calculating the ideal recovery factor is presented, including the construction of geological and technological models, adaptation of relative permeability curves, and forecast simulations using an optimized well spacing configuration. The results demonstrate significant discrepancies between actual and ideal oil recovery levels, reveal zones with the highest remaining development potential, and outline directions for improving field performance.
Conclusions. The findings support the justification for drilling additional sidetracks and confirm the strategic importance of using the ideal oil recovery factor in planning enhanced oil recovery technologies.
